An EPOS Clerk plays a vital role in ensuring proper management and execution of sales transactions in a retail setting. The EPOS Clerk will be responsible for accurately recording sales, processing payments, handling customer queries, and maintaining the overall efficiency of the Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) system.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the EPOS system to process sales transactions efficiently and accurately.
  • Ensure all sales are recorded correctly, including scanning products, inputting prices, and applying discounts or promotions when necessary.
  • Handle cash transactions by accepting payments, providing change accurately, and reconciling cash drawer at the end of each shift.
  • Assist customers in resolving any queries or issues related to sales transactions or product information.
  • Keep the EPOS area clean and organized at all times.
  • Collaborate with other team members to maintain stock levels and ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Prepare daily sales reports and reconcile them with cash register receipts.
  • Stay up to date with product knowledge to provide accurate information to customers.
  • Adhere to store policies and procedures, including security measures for cash handling.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience operating an EPOS system in a retail environment is preferred but not required as training will be provided.
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate recording of sales.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure.
  • Basic computer proficiency with knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
